- Keynote 연설 개요
The Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) was merged into the 2.6.23 release of the Linux kernel as a replacement for the O(1) scheduler which managed the CPU resources since the 2.5 development series of the Linux kernel.
The name "Completely Fair Scheduler" covers only a part of the overall functionality of the new Linux process scheduler. The fairness part is the one which got the most attention due to the deficiencies of the O(1) scheduler and the attempts to extend the O(1) scheduler with heuristic methods to provide "perfect" interactivity and fairness.
The talk gives an overview of the basic concepts of the new process scheduler and looks at the details of the various enhanced functionalities.
