Introduction

• The Japan Technical Jamboree is a forum-wide technical meeting of the CE Linux Forum. This meeting will be located conveniently in Japan and use Japanese as the native language of the event.
• Attendance is not limited to the CELF members, but is open to all. Everyone who is interested in embedded Linux technologies is welcomed. There is no admission fee.

"Neta-Furi" ("What I can talk about") Card

• All attendees are requested to fill out the "Neta-Furi Card" and send it to the coordinator in advance of the event. Note: Because of server trouble, we couldn't prepare the cards, so, no "Neta-furi card" is requred to attend Jamboree #6.

  • What is "Neta-Furi Card"?

    • It is a card for the mutual introduction of the participants' technical interest in Linux development. In general, conferences in Japan tend to be very quiet and many of the attendees are shy about speaking out. The cards are provided as "Ice Breaking" for the conference.

• Mitsubishi Electric is preparing the session about the extention of direct FB for ARIB (Japanese Digital TV standard) with the demonstration.

  • DSP Gateway アーキテクチャの詳細 / DSP Gateway Architecture in detail
    • DSP Gatewayはオープンソースソフトウェアであり、LinuxプログラマがDSPを扱うために必要な機能を提供しています。その機能は、シンプルで効率的なものになるように設計されており、またリソースマネジメント機能も組み込まれています。 現在の実装は、製品に適用可能なレベルであり、実際にLinuxベースのインターネット端末「Nokia 770」 でマルチメディアプレーヤーの処理に使われています。発表内容としては、技術的な詳細および、今後の方向性などを考えております。また、Nokia 770を使ったデモも予定しております。

      DSP Gatewayの開発は現在も SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dspgateway). で続けられています。 DSP Gateway is open source software that provides a handy mechanism for Linux programmers to exploit DSP, a crucial processing unit for mobile devices. It's designed to be simple and efficient and also equipped with sophisticated resource management functions. Recently unveiled NOKIA 770 Internet Tablet utilizes DSP Gateway to accelerate its multi-media player and it proves the supreme quality of DSP Gateway. The presentation includes technical details of DSP Gateway, its future challenges, and demonstration using NOKIA 770.

      DSP Gateway development is ongoing under SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dspgateway).

  • カーネルサイズ検証ツール「KconfigSize」について / "KconfigSize" a Tool to Check the Kernel Size

    • カーネルコンフィグレーションとカーネルイメージサイズ・使用メモリ量との関係を測定するためのツール「KconfigSize」を開発中です。 当セッションでは、ツールの内容とこれまでに取れたデータの概要を簡単にご説明いたします。ツールの機能と得られるデータについてディスカッションを行い、今後の開発にフィードバックさせて頂ければと考えています。

      We are developing a tool to check the Kernel Image size and Memory consumption according to the kernel configuration, "KconfigSize". This is a session to introduce this tool and obtained results by this tool. We would like to discuss about this feature for our further development and improvement.

Embedded Linux Conference, April 2006

• CE Linux Forumは2006年4月にEmbedded Linux Conference 2006をサンノゼ（米国西海岸・シリコンバレー）で開催します。セッションの受付締切は2006年2月15日です。世界中から組込み系のオープンソースデベロッパーが集まる機会です。是非参加してください。詳細は[EmbeddedLinuxConference2006]（英文）をご覧ください。

• CE Linux Forum is planning to have the "Embedded Linux Conference 2006" on coming April. The closing date for the call for session proposal is 15th Februaly.
